Hoof Rasps & Rasp Cleaner |
Friedr. Dick Hoof Rasps The Friedr. Dick horse rasp is superb. It’s the European standard among professional farriers and hoof care practitioners, and now popular in the U.S. for both do-it-yourselfers and professionals. The 12" is a particular favorite, especially among our many women customers (although many men prefer it also!) The 12" has also been recommended for use on ponies (see comments at lower left). Features: u Standard size 14" and shorter 12" size u High efficiency u Works with any handle u One side coarse file cut u One side with extra sharp tines and deep rasp cutting edge geometry Customer Comment "I have bought different rasps that were supposedly very good quality and they don't perform near as well as the F. Dick rasps in my opinion. A couple of my customers have commented on how well my F. Dick rasp gets through the hoof, and after trying it for themselves, they are very impressed." -- Gail from New Zealand |

Round Sole Rasp At last, a unique tool that enables the hoof care practitioner to safely shape and stimulate sole growth and develop natural concavity in the volar dome as never before. The sole rasp is used following a general debriding and shaping with the hoof knife. Properly used, it hones the surface of the solar dome into a smooth, hard natural finish resembling the wild horse hoof -- and without the risks of causing harm if attempted with a hoof knife. It also enables the practitioner to give the bars a mustang roll also in keeping with the wild horse model. 80 grit sandpaper is recommended to really "fine tune" the finish. A fantastic tool, and a great addition to your tool caddy. |
Rasp cleaner It is a characteristic of rasps to pick up hoof filings between the teeth (chisels) and hold them there. Use this 10 inch rasp cleaner to keep the cutting chisels free of such debris, and you will add on to the trimming life of your rasp. |

Customer Comment: "I love the F. Dick rasps, they last sooo long and cut so good! I trim my four horses every three weeks, and I would never try another common rasp, they just don't last. I had one for alot more money, and it was dull after the first two trims! I have been using this one, since the late spring!" -- Julie from Canada (Comment received in October) |

Customer Comment: " I really like the 12" rasp and metal rasp handle. I have three ponies - 13 hands, 13.2 hands and 14 hands. In the past, I found using a standard-size rasp quite difficult on the 13 hand pony -- there is just not enough room under her belly for a longer rasp. Using a shorter rasp has made trimming my ponies a LOT easier!" -- Susan from Virginia Customer Comment: "I love your rasps, they're the best!" -- Sue from Massachusetts Customer Comment: "I like the 12 inch rasps. Makes it much easier for us small stature women to trim!" -- Anne from South Dakota |
